Four 17-year-old Texas students allegedly kidnapped and tortured their classmate at gunpoint because he was talking to one of their girlfriends, according to police.
The accused Austin teens — Jose Rojas-Alvarado, Oscar Armando Santiago-Martinez, Angel Lemus-Perez, and Carlos Roberto Oliva-Villeda — allegedly tied up, burned and beat the victim with a baseball bat while taking it in turns holding a gun to his head, according to shocking court documents obtained by KVUE.
The unidentified victim — who had been friends with the group for two years — was tricked into leaving Del Valle High School on Feb. 19 under the ruse of grabbing pizza, with three of the suspects instead driving him to a house where the fourth was waiting, the docs said.
The group talked normally in the detached garage for about an hour before the defendants made the victim sit in a chair in the center of the room, as their attitudes suddenly changed, the victim told police.
The teens then bound the victim’s hands, feet and mouth with duct tape and took turns holding a gun to his head as they viciously beat him with aluminum baseball bats, a walking cane and a belt, according to the affidavit.
Lemus-Perez allegedly torched up a box cutter with a lighter and held it against the victim’s chest. Rojas-Alvarado forced him to drink from a bottle of clear alcohol and threatened to cut his toe off if he refused, the affidavit alleged.
At one point, Rojas-Alvarado grabbed a chainsaw and machete and threatened to cut off the tortured teen’s body parts, according to the accuser — who said a plastic bag was also put over his head.
Towards the end, Rojas-Alvarado told the alleged victim that they tortured him because he’d been talking to his girlfriend and he wanted him to stop.
The accuser said he was eventually cut loose and dumped at a separate location after the attackers deleted their numbers from his cell phone, according to the affidavit. He eventually made his way to a bus stop and reported the alleged attack to police.
The accuser had extensive bruising on his chest, back and legs, police said.
In interviews with police, Santiago-Martinez, Lemus-Perez and Oliva-Villeda allegedly admitted to planning the kidnapping a week in advance.
All four are charged with aggravated kidnapping with a deadly weapon, a first-degree felony, and engaging in organized criminal activity, court records show.
The four are no longer enrolled in the school district, officials told News 4 San Antonio.
